definitely something began in 2021 as a place to collect the writing of its lead author Lauren Pearce. Partially inspired by the fanzines of the late 70s and early 80s, it’s an eclectic compilation of writings on the politics of living and the things that enable life: music, literature, and culture, always aiming to speak from with a rebel sensibility and a progressive outlook.
About Lauren
Lauren Pearce was born and raised in Southwest Sydney, setting her sights on a writing career midway through high school. She matriculated with a scholarship to The University of Sydney, where she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Australian Literature and won awards for her honours thesis on mental illness in literature. Three years later she left Sydney’s PhD program to focus on her own writing. She masquerades as a public servant on weekdays.
Lauren is the author of several pieces of short fiction and memoir, numerous articles, and one play (Fallout, produced by Smoking Gum Theatre in 2015). She still lives in Southwest Sydney on Dharawal country.
